DECURSINOL-50®

People practicing yoga on mats, focusing on leg stretches.

Product Overview

Decursinol-50®, a proprietary blend of natural phytochemicals, is clinically proven to reduce joint pain, promote joint health, and improve flexibility and mobility. Clinical studies have shown that Decursinol-50® acts quickly to reduce the inflammation pain associated with arthritis, in addition to any acute pain.

Decursinol-50® is an extract of the root of Angelica gigas Nakai (Korean Angelica), which is an excellent source of pain-relief agents decursin and decursinol.

Developed for oral consumption, Decursinol-50® works synergistically with Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, SAMe, and other osteoarthritis medications, including Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin, naproxen, and ibuprofen.

Human Clinical Study Results

Results revealed:

  • VAS score improved up to 70%
  • Significant pain reduction in both arthritis and trauma pain groups (changes of 13% have clinical significance)
  • Statistically significant (p<0.001)
  • No adverse effects

Single-Dose Animal Toxicology Study

From the study results, we have estimated that the LD50 of Decursinol-50® in rats is 3,722 mg/Kg for males and 2,804 mg/Kg for females.

Repeat-Dose Animal Toxicology Study

Investigations of 4-week repeat-dose toxicity of Decursinol-50® in SD rats did not find any significant toxicological changes in the high dose group (500mg/Kg), though it did find a 10% loss of body weight compared to the control group. The maximum tolerable dose of the test material is therefore below 500 mg/Kg, while the non-toxic dose level is above 100 mg/Kg. From these results, Decursinol-50® is considered to be highly appropriate for human use.

  • All animals survived the test period
  • No clinical abnormalities were found across all dose level and all animals
  • No abnormalities were observed across all test groups, including the control group
  • No abnormalities were observed in the urine analyses across all test groups, including the control group
  • No abnormalities were observed in the necropsy gross findings across all test groups, including the control group
